The Original New Testament

Cyrillic majuscules. Bulgarian orthography. The illumination includes initial letters of an older type and geometrical patterns. The cardboard and leather binding is of a later date.

The manuscript includes the Gospel readings for every day of the year (fols. 1r-60r) and a Menology (fols. 60r-88r). It preserves the Bulgarian church and literary tradition of the fourteenth century, together with the orthographical trends in the Bulgarian literary ecclesiastical language of the time.
